Green velvet sofa being extracted with a hot-water extraction unit during a Marrakech job

Upholstery and textile cleaning in Marrakech

L-shaped and U-shaped sofas, mattresses and rugs. Professional hot-water extraction, at your address, with nothing taken away — and an estimate in dirhams including VAT before the team travels.

In short

Hot-water extraction injects a solution into the fibre under pressure and immediately vacuums back the water loaded with dirt: the soiling comes out of the textile instead of being diluted inside it. In Marrakech, EPUREVA charges 300 MAD incl. VAT for a single mattress, 400 MAD for a double, 550 MAD (small) or 600 MAD (large) for an L-shaped sofa, 650 MAD (small) or 750 MAD (large) for a U-shaped sofa and 30 MAD/m² for a rug, with a 400 MAD textile minimum, in your home. Drying takes half a day to a full day, sometimes longer.

What we treat

The household textiles that cannot go into a machine, treated where they stand:

  • L-shaped or U-shaped sofas, small or large, in fabric, microfibre or velvet
  • single and double mattresses
  • rugs of every origin, wool beldi included, counted by the m²
  • the stains you point out, treated during the clean — detail on stain removal

A sofa of another shape has no line in the grid: send photos of it on WhatsApp and it is priced from the photos. We do not handle garments or anything that requires industrial machine processing: it is not our trade, and it is a different business altogether.

Hot-water extraction, explained plainly

A domestic vacuum lifts surface dust. A wet brush loaded with detergent pushes the dirt deeper into the foam and leaves a sticky residue that makes the fabric soil twice as fast afterwards.

Hot-water extraction does the opposite. The machine injects a warm solution into the fibre under pressure, releases the soiling, then vacuums the loaded water back in the same movement. The cycle is repeated until the water coming out runs clear again.

This point matters: the extracted water is visible in the recovery tank. It is black on the first pass and clear on the last. It is the only immediate proof that work has actually been done, and it is right in front of you.

The process is detailed on the hot-water extraction method.

In your home, in front of you, with nothing taken away

Two complaints come back regularly in Marrakech's Google reviews for this market, always about the same services: a rug returned wrapped in plastic without having been washed, and a rug returned two months later, when it has not been lost outright.

Our answer is structural, not commercial: we do not take your textiles away. The work is carried out at your address, on the spot, with the equipment the team brings. You watch the machine work. Nothing leaves the house, nothing waits in a workshop, nothing goes missing.

On delicate fabrics — wool, silk, velvet, or a fibre you cannot identify — the method is confirmed from your photos before the date. On site, a colourfastness test is carried out on a hidden area before any treatment: wool hosed down without that test loses its colour and shrinks, irreversibly.

If the test comes back negative, we say so and we do not treat it: a ruined rug costs more than the clean it will not have had.

What comes into your home, item by item

  • Professional hot-water extraction unit with separate tanks, clean water and dirty water kept apart: that is what lets you see what comes out of the textile.
  • Dedicated tools by use: hand tool for seats and backs, wide wand for rugs and mattresses, fine tool for seams and corners.
  • Steam cleaner for lifting build-up out of seams, piping and contact areas.
  • Soft rotary brush to open up the pile of a rug before injection.
  • Stain removers matched to the nature of the mark — grease, tannins, pigments, proteins — applied locally, never sprayed across the whole piece.
  • Drying blowers to help air the room after the clean.

We bring the equipment and the products; we need water and electricity on site, or the job cannot go ahead. The full inventory is on our professional kit, and the sequence of an intervention on our method.

Our process in six steps

  1. Estimate, then photos on WhatsApp. You list the items and the rug dimensions, the summary goes out on WhatsApp, followed by 3 to 5 photos. The price is confirmed from the photos, before the date.
  2. Identifying the textile and the mark on arrival: nature of the fibre, type of soiling, how old it is.
  3. Colourfastness test on a hidden area for any piece in wool, dyed, or of uncertain origin.
  4. Deep dry vacuuming: sand, dust, hair. Injecting into a textile that has not been vacuumed turns dust into mud.
  5. Targeted stain removal then hot-water extraction in crossed passes, until the extracted water runs clear again.
  6. Inspection with you, checklist handed over, and drying instructions.

Six prices per item, one per m², one minimum

The grid comes down to eight figures. Mattresses, single or double, and L-shaped or U-shaped sofas, small or large, are counted per item. Rugs are counted per m²: length × width, rug by rug. The total is rounded to the dirham.

The 400 MAD textile minimum applies to the whole request, not item by item: below that amount, a top-up is added. Two sums show how.

  • A single mattress on its own: 300 MAD, top-up of 100 MAD, giving 400 MAD incl. VAT.
  • A small L-shaped sofa and a 2.35 × 1.7 m rug: 2.35 × 1.7 = 3.995 m² × 30 = 119.85 MAD; 550 + 119.85 = 669.85 MAD, giving 670 MAD incl. VAT once the total is rounded.

More worked examples, item by item, are on upholstery prices. The guide cleaning a salon marocain safely stays online as care advice.

Drying, stains and odours

Drying. Allow half a day to a full day, sometimes longer depending on the fabric, the thickness and the airflow. Do not use or cover the piece until it is completely dry: a sofa sat on too early marks, a mattress made up too early holds the damp.

The exact timing is given according to the method chosen. If you cannot wait, say so beforehand: another date is better than a textile used while still damp.

Stains and odours. A persistent smell rarely comes from the surface fabric: it comes from the foam or the base. Hot-water extraction removes the organic matter producing it; an air freshener covers it for two days. The stains and odours you report help us prepare the job: they do not trigger an automatic surcharge.

Mould or infestation. Here an assessment is needed before we confirm: cleaning alone may not be enough, and we would rather say so from the photos than on site.

What is not guaranteed, and why we say so beforehand

Some stains, discolouration or odours may remain. No 100% result is guaranteed. Bleach, dye, a burn or an old food colouring on a natural fibre have altered the fibre itself: there is nothing left to extract.

Our rule: those stains are identified before treatment, announced as irreversible, and worked on a best-effort basis — with no free return visit afterwards on that specific point, since it was flagged. The rest of the service remains covered by the 48-hour return visit.

Also excluded: moving heavy furniture and unpicking sewn-on covers.

Prices, lead times and areas

The grid is published below, in dirhams including VAT, with a 400 MAD textile minimum. These amounts are indicative: the price is confirmed after photos or a visit, and no surcharge is committed without your agreement.

For a riad or an establishment whose textiles are on view all year, regular visits do not cost less per item, but they avoid having to catch up on a mark that has been sitting in the fibre for six months. The price detail is on upholstery prices and on the prices page.

Dates can be booked from the day after your request, and we reply seven days a week We travel across Marrakech: Targa, Guéliz, Sidi Ghanem, Hivernage, the Palmeraie, Annakhil, Amelkis and the route de l'Ourika. The other areas are listed on our coverage area.

For an estimate, go through request a quotation, then attach your photos on WhatsApp. Our completed jobs are in case studies.

Frequently asked questions

How much does sofa cleaning cost in Marrakech?

An L-shaped sofa costs 550 MAD incl. VAT in the small size and 600 MAD in the large; a U-shaped sofa, 650 MAD small and 750 MAD large. Each one exceeds the 400 MAD textile minimum on its own. A sofa of another shape is priced from photos, via WhatsApp. These prices are indicative and confirmed after photos or a visit.

Do you really clean the rug, or do you take it away and bring it back?

We take no textile away. Everything is treated at your address, with our own equipment, in front of you. The dirty water extracted is visible in the machine's recovery tank: dark on the first pass, clear on the last. Nothing leaves the house and nothing waits in a workshop.

Could my wool beldi rug bleed colour or shrink?

That is a real risk on dyed wool. Wool is one of the delicate fabrics: the method is confirmed from your photos, then a colourfastness test is carried out on a hidden area before any treatment. If the dye migrates, we do not put the piece through hot-water extraction and we tell you so. The rug is priced like any other, 30 MAD/m² incl. VAT.

How long does the sofa take to dry?

Half a day to a full day, sometimes longer depending on the fabric, the thickness and how well the room is aired. The sofa must be neither used nor covered until it is completely dry. The exact timing depends on the method chosen; if you cannot wait, another date is the better option.

Can you come today or tomorrow?

Not the same day: dates can be booked from the day after your request and are confirmed with our team. Send your summary and photos on WhatsApp; we reply seven days a week The slot you choose is confirmed in writing, with the name of the person attending.

Do all stains come out?

No, and we say so before starting: some stains, discolouration or odours may remain, and no 100% result is guaranteed. Bleach, dye, a burn or an old colouring agent have altered the fibre itself. Those marks are announced as irreversible and worked on a best-effort basis; the rest of the service remains covered by the free 48-hour return visit.

Does a stain or a urine smell cost more?

No. The stains and odours you report are used to prepare the job; they do not trigger an automatic surcharge, because the method depends on the fabric and its condition. Only mould and infestation need an assessment before we confirm, since cleaning alone may not be enough.

What do I need to have ready on the day?

Access to water and electricity, without which we cannot work, and clear access to the pieces to be treated. We bring the equipment and the products. Plan for the drying time too: do not use or cover the textile until it is completely dry.
