Sofa Cleaning in Guéliz, Marrakech

In Guéliz, the sofa is not a living-room piece: it is a front-of-house fixture. The question is not whether it will be clean, it is whether it will be dry when the first appointments arrive.

In short

In Guéliz, in Marrakech, EPUREVA treats the sofas of professional premises — waiting rooms, shared spaces, the break-out corner of an office floor — on site and outside opening hours, by hot-water extraction. An L-shaped sofa costs 550 MAD incl. VAT in the small size and 600 MAD in the large, a U-shaped sofa 650 MAD or 750 MAD, a rug 30 MAD per m², with a 400 MAD textile minimum. Drying takes half a day to a full day: the job is only booked if the sofa can dry before reopening.

A reception seat is not a living-room sofa

On a domestic sofa, use is counted in years. On the reception sofa of a practice on Avenue Mohammed V, it is counted in weeks. Patients, clients, candidates: people sit on it all day, fully dressed, straight in from the street, bag set down beside them.

What builds up there has nothing to do with the soiling of a living room. First there is sheen on the contact zones: the front of the seat and the arm rest take on a shiny, flattened look, darker than the rest.

Then there is dye transfer from clothing, denim on pale fabrics in particular. Finally there is street-level pollution — exhaust particles and pavement dust carried in on clothes and shoe soles, greying the fabric evenly with no identifiable stain.

One single wear point explains half the call-outs: the front edge of the seat. That is where people sit down, stand up, and rub the fabric against the frame. It is treated with closer passes and a grooming pass after extraction, otherwise the difference from the rest of the panel still shows once dry.

The drying window decides whether the job happens

For an office floor, a practice or a shared space, the constraint is not the stain: it is reopening time. A sofa still damp at nine o'clock is a sofa out of service, and a client sitting on it is an incident.

So we work backwards. The first question is not "how many sofas" but "what time does the door reopen, and who has the key". From that we set the window: end of day after staff leave, very early morning, or a weekend depending on the premises' activity. The drive from our base is short, which makes a seven-in-the-evening slot as realistic as a seven-in-the-morning one.

The drying benchmark is known: half a day to a full day, sometimes longer, depending on the fabric, its thickness and the airflow. The exact time is given once we have seen the room: foam density, air volume, whether it can be opened up, whether there is mechanical ventilation.

Thick foam in a closed office with no opening window sits at the top of that range; a thin sofa in a through open-plan space, at the bottom. Until then, nobody sits on the sofa and nothing covers it.

And if there is no compatible slot, we turn the job down, or scale it back to what can dry in time. Premises reopened with damp seating damage the provider's credibility more surely than a week's delay.

Alarm, badge, lift and IT equipment

Working in an empty office assumes a protocol written before the day, and it is not improvised the night before.

  • Handover of access. Keys or badge, alarm code, the name of the person to contact if it goes off. We ask for a named individual holding the access credentials, and a formal handover of them at the end of the job.
  • The lift and the lobby. In a rented building, the lift car is protected before any machine passes through it, and the managing agent may set a noise-nuisance curfew. That is settled with them, not discovered at the door.
  • Water and electricity. A water point and a socket must stay available during the job; premises where the power is switched off at night leave us unable to work.
  • IT equipment. Nothing is unplugged, nothing is moved. A seat pushed against a workstation is pulled clear by our team and put back exactly in place, and the extraction hose never runs over an extension lead.
  • Waste water goes back in the tank; it is not tipped down the floor's sanitary outlets.

Parking is the real sticking point in this area: the carry between the vehicle and the entrance needs to be planned for, and it counts inside the stated window. The rest of what we do in the neighbourhood is described on our services in Guéliz.

Counting the sofas, then choosing the rhythm

A professional premises does not do the same maths as a private household. A reception sofa and an entrance rug is a one-off visit; the same furniture twice a year is a budget line to plan for. Every visit is priced on the same grid: frequency does not change the unit price, it avoids waiting until the fabric is marked for good.

Counting is done remotely, from photos: each L- or U-shaped sofa, small or large, and each rug measured length × width. Armchairs, visitor chairs and straight benches are not on our price list: send us photos of them on WhatsApp and we will answer before any visit. Velvet or a fabric of unknown make-up also shows on those photos, which are used to confirm the method.

Example: a small L-shaped waiting-room sofa, 550 MAD, and a 2 × 2.5 m entrance rug, that is 5 m² × 30 MAD = 150 MAD, come to 700 MAD incl. VAT. The rug on its own would be brought up to the 400 MAD textile minimum.

Stains you point out — coffee, ink, make-up — trigger no automatic surcharge; some may remain, and no 100% result is guaranteed. Mould or an infestation is diagnosed before any quote: cleaning alone may not be enough. Amounts are indicative and confirmed after photos or a visit.

Frequently asked questions

Can you clean the reception sofa outside opening hours in Guéliz?

Yes, and it is in fact the most common arrangement here: end of day after staff leave, very early morning, or a weekend depending on the premises' activity. We ask beforehand for handover of access, the alarm code, the name of someone reachable if it goes off, and access to water and electricity. Our base is in the neighbourhood, which makes a seven-in-the-evening slot as realistic as a seven-in-the-morning one.

How do we know the bench will be dry before clients arrive?

Allow half a day to a full day of drying, sometimes longer. The exact time is announced on site, once we have seen the room, checked the foam density and confirmed the ventilation available. If no window allows full drying before reopening, we turn the job down or limit it to the sofas that can dry in time. That is the only honest answer for premises open to the public.

Do computer workstations need to be unplugged before you arrive?

No, we neither unplug nor move any IT equipment. Seats pushed against a workstation are pulled clear by our team and put back exactly in place, and the extraction hose never runs over an extension lead. It is enough to clear objects off the seats and free the path between the entrance and the area to be treated.

How does the 400 MAD textile minimum apply to business premises?

It applies to the total of the visit. A small L-shaped sofa, at 550 MAD incl. VAT, exceeds it on its own. A 5 m² entrance rug, at 150 MAD, would be topped up to 400 MAD: better to group it with the sofa in the same space. Armchairs and visitor chairs are not on the grid; they are priced from photos sent on WhatsApp, before any commitment.
