Cleaning in Guéliz, Marrakech
Guéliz is the one page on this site where being close by is not a sales argument: it is an address, and it is a public one.
Marble in the entrance hall, fitted carpet upstairs, polished concrete in the shop
Guéliz is the most vertically mixed district in Marrakech, and that is exactly what makes it particular to price. Inside one single building on avenue Mohammed V you will find a shop or an agency at street level, two or three office floors above it — practices, service companies, coworking spaces — and upmarket flats on the top storeys.
Next door, a 1930s to 1950s building of one or two storeys, often converted into a restaurant, a gallery or a loft.
That stacking has a direct consequence: several floor types live under the same roof, and after building work they are not counted at the same price.
- Marble in entrance halls, landings and stairwells: it is what visitors see, and it is the least forgiving surface in the district. 30 MAD incl. VAT per m².
- Polished concrete in lofts, concept stores and contemporary restaurants, wood flooring in refurbished period flats and some corner offices: 30 MAD incl. VAT per m² as well.
- Tiles in most homes and service premises: 20 MAD incl. VAT per m².
- Fitted carpet on many office floors: a surface we do not treat, and we would rather write it here than at quotation time.
What Guéliz does not have: none of the traditional materials in daily circulation — no zellige (glazed terracotta mosaic), no bejmat (unglazed terracotta laid on edge), no tadelakt (polished lime render). The question of historic materials does not arise here — it arises on the other side of the ramparts, and we deal with it on the medina page.
One last point of typology, and it is the one that governs the diary: the density of businesses is the highest in the city. Here, the enquiry comes from a shopkeeper, an office manager or a practice that has just refitted its premises, far more often than from a private household.
Our address is 55 avenue Mohammed V
Every cleaning company in Marrakech writes that it can be "in Guéliz quickly". We write something else, and it takes three seconds to check: EPUREVA is registered at Appartement 33, Résidence Jakar, 55 Avenue Mohammed V, Marrakech 40000. That is in the district, on the avenue linking the medina to the station.
What that changes, concretely, and nothing more:
- A visit before confirmation becomes unremarkable. The price is confirmed after photos or a visit; an office floor is judged on its floor type, the number of workstations to work around, whether there is a plant room, and how the alarms are handled. When three to five photos are not enough, coming to look is not a journey, it is a walk.
- Putting right a flagged point needs no logistics. When a checklist item is flagged afterwards, it is put right without mounting a whole fresh intervention.
- The price itself does not move. Our rates are the same across Marrakech: being neighbours brings neither a discount nor a surcharge, and that makes comparison easier.
What it does not change, and we will not pretend otherwise: being close does not shorten an intervention. Cleaning a 200 m² office floor after works takes exactly as long in Guéliz as anywhere else. It shortens the set-up, the prior visit and the follow-up. Nothing else.
Shopfronts, refitted floors, flats: the order of requests in Guéliz
In the real order of the enquiries that reach us from the district:
- Glass in shops and offices. For a shop: 25 MAD incl. VAT per m² of shop window, both faces included, 15 MAD incl. VAT per m² for glass inside the premises, a 1,000 MAD shop minimum, and a flat fascia sign at 100 MAD incl. VAT per metre of length. For an office floor: the inside face only, 15 MAD incl. VAT per m² of glass faces, 500 MAD minimum. On height, nothing above 5 metres from the ground: no cherry picker and no ropes. Shopfronts are covered in detail on shop window cleaning, and the district's own version on window cleaning in Guéliz.
- Post-construction cleaning of office floors and units. Guéliz is permanently refitting itself: 20 MAD incl. VAT per m² on standard tiles, 30 MAD incl. VAT on marble, polished concrete or wood, 3,000 MAD minimum. A 180 m² floor in polished concrete therefore comes to 5,400 MAD incl. VAT; if the furniture is already back in place, protection and working around the desks add 15%, making 6,210 MAD. Offcuts and rubble must already be gone: we do not clear out. The constraints of a building site housed inside an occupied block are set out on post-construction cleaning for offices and shops and on post-construction cleaning in Guéliz.
- The flats on the upper floors. Standard housekeeping by the day: 800 MAD incl. VAT, one person included, 250 MAD per extra person — see apartment housekeeping.
There is one item budgets tend to forget: reception sofas. In a coworking space or a waiting room, an L-shaped sofa is cleaned on site from 550 MAD incl. VAT (600 MAD for a large L, 650 to 750 MAD for a U-shaped one), an entrance rug at 30 MAD incl. VAT per m², with a 400 MAD textile minimum.
Armchairs and straight benches are not part of what we offer — see sofa cleaning and its local version, sofas in Guéliz.
All these prices include VAT and are indicative: they are confirmed after photos or a visit, and no supplement is committed without your agreement.
A badge, an alarm, and nobody in the offices
Getting to Guéliz is easy; parking is not, and that is the first real constraint. On the shopping streets, surface spaces are scarce, usually paid for, and deliveries are restricted. We plan to drop equipment as close as possible and then move the vehicle, and the carrying time goes into the planning rather than into a surprise on the morning.
Inside, four points are settled before the intervention, never on the doorstep:
- The handover of access. Key, badge or code, with a name against it. A team working in empty premises works under a written responsibility, not an informal arrangement.
- The alarm. Disarming code, re-arming procedure, and the person to call if the panel goes off. This is the point that makes an out-of-hours job fail.
- The IT furniture. Towers, cabling, UPS units under the desks: nothing is unplugged, nothing is moved. The floor is treated by working around the workstations, which changes both the method and the time announced.
- The lift and the common parts. A car shared with the other occupants, protection often required by the managing agent, restricted hours for noisy work. The entrance hall of a building on avenue Mohammed V is marble: it is protected beforehand and checked afterwards.
What we need on top of that: water and electricity available in the premises. We bring the equipment and the products; without a tap or a socket, we cannot work.
Finally, a soiling problem specific to the district: the greasy film left by traffic. A shop window on avenue Mohammed V is not dirtied by mineral dust but by an exhaust deposit that catches the low morning light. Clear water will not shift it.
What an office manager can check before signing
The baseline is the same everywhere EPUREVA works, and it can be checked before the intervention, not after.
- The calculation is public. Every line of the estimate uses a published rate — m² of shop glass, m² of glass faces, m² of floor, day — and every supplement its percentage. A price without a calculation commits nobody to anything.
- A test patch on marble and on polished concrete after works, approved with you before anything is rolled out: not every floor is treated the same way.
- A checklist signed on site, item by item and room by room, with a free return on the point flagged if it is not up to standard.
EPUREVA works with certified products, has over 195 clients and carries professional liability insurance. Describe your premises — floor, area, floor type, the time slot available — attach 3 to 5 photos, and get an estimate; we reply on WhatsApp seven days a week The full list of areas we cover is on our areas of operation.

Frequently asked questions
You are registered in Guéliz: what does that actually change for an office floor in the district?
It changes the prior visit, not the length of the work or the price. EPUREVA is registered at 55 Avenue Mohammed V, in Guéliz: a floor can be seen before confirmation when photos are not enough, and a checklist item flagged afterwards is put right without mounting a whole fresh intervention. The rates themselves are the same as anywhere else in Marrakech.
Can offices in Guéliz be cleaned before the staff arrive or after they leave?
Yes, for inside-face glazing as well as for a floor after building work: empty premises, key or badge handed over, alarm code and re-arming procedure agreed in advance, IT equipment never moved. The date and time slot are confirmed with our team before the intervention, together with the name of the contact reachable while we are on site.
Parking is difficult on avenue Mohammed V: how do you get the equipment to the premises?
By dropping it as close as possible, then moving the vehicle. The drop-off point and the carrying distance are identified from your photos or during a visit, with the equipment chosen accordingly — demountable where the stairwell or the lift car requires it. In Guéliz, set-up time is planned for; it is not discovered on the morning.
Do you clean the fitted carpet of an open-plan office in Guéliz?
No, fitted carpet is not one of our services. On an office floor, we wash the glazing on the inside face, at 15 MAD incl. VAT per m² of glass faces with a 500 MAD minimum, and, after building work, hard floors by the m²: 20 MAD incl. VAT on standard tiles, 30 MAD on marble, polished concrete or wood, 3,000 MAD minimum. The L-shaped or U-shaped sofas of a reception area are treated on site from 550 MAD incl. VAT.
