Sofa Cleaning in Hivernage, Marrakech

A bar bench takes in one week what a living-room sofa takes in a year. The question here is not cleaning it once: it is deciding how often to go over it before it becomes beyond recovery.

In short

In Hivernage, in Marrakech, EPUREVA treats the sofas of premises open to the public — lobby, bar, upstairs lounge — on site, at night or outside operating hours, without crossing guest-facing areas. An L-shaped sofa costs 550 MAD incl. VAT in the small size and 600 MAD in the large, a U-shaped sofa 650 MAD or 750 MAD, a mattress 300 MAD single and 400 MAD double, with a 400 MAD textile minimum. These amounts are indicative and confirmed after photos or a visit.

How fast public seating gets soiled

The maths is simple, and it changes everything. A bar or lobby seat receives dozens of people a day, seven days a week. In one week of normal operation, it has taken in the equivalent of a year on a domestic sofa.

Precisely what it takes in: sugary drinks that leave an invisible sticky film which then catches everything that passes over it; food grease splashed around low tables; sun cream transferred from shoulders and thighs onto seats near the outdoor areas; dye transfer from clothing; and a continuous mineral load carried in from outside.

A textile in this state crosses a threshold. As long as the soiling stays on the surface and in the upper part of the fibre, most of it extracts out. Once it has migrated into the foam and oxidised, only part of the contrast can be recovered, whatever the method. It is this threshold, not general appearance, that should trigger the job.

A scheduled visit rather than catching up

For an operator, the one-off job is almost always the worst choice. The call comes when the furniture is visibly marked, meaning too late, and a heavy treatment delivers only a partial result.

The approach that works on this type of premises is scheduled visits: a tighter cycle on the most exposed sofas — bar, lobby, covered terrace — and a wider-spaced cycle on low-traffic zones, such as upstairs lounges. The calendar is set around the operation, not around ours: the relative lull of late summer is a far better window than the October and December peaks.

The benefit is not the price — every visit follows the same grid, and frequency does not change what a sofa costs. It lies in the result: a textile refreshed before the threshold treats faster, with less water applied, so the zone is out of use for less time, and it stays consistent instead of alternating between two states.

The survey is done once, from photos, then used for every visit. A lobby example: a large U-shaped sofa at 750 MAD and two large L-shaped sofas, 2 × 600 MAD = 1,200 MAD, making 1,950 MAD incl. VAT per visit.

Lobby armchairs, seminar chairs and straight benches are not on our price list: they are priced from photos sent on WhatsApp. Bedding from vacated units is treated in the same window — see on-site mattress cleaning; bedding showing bedbugs or mould needs a diagnosis, and cleaning alone may not be enough. The general picture is described on upholstery cleaning in Marrakech.

Entering through service areas, out before opening

The measure of success here fits in one sentence: no guest should ever cross paths with a hose, a trolley or an operative. That dictates the whole organisation.

The team enters through goods deliveries, with a supplier badge, moves through service areas and uses the service lift. Equipment is carried under cover. Water intake and drainage points are designated by the technical manager — without water and electricity available, we do not work — and waste water goes back in the tank.

In public areas, work is done at night, zone by zone, with full reset before opening: furniture put back to marked positions, floor checked, protection removed. In rooms and suites, we only work on vacated units, never with a guest present on the floor.

Drying is sped up with mechanical ventilation, set up during the treatment rather than after. The benchmark remains half a day to a full day, sometimes longer; the exact time is announced on site, once the volume, foam and air circulation have been assessed.

Until it is fully dry, the sofa is neither used nor covered. The access discipline specific to the property is detailed on our services in the Hivernage neighbourhood.

Sun-faded fabric cannot be recovered

This is the most frequent limit on this type of furniture, and it is rarely mentioned at quotation stage.

Seating placed near a window, under a glazed roof or on a covered terrace receives direct sunlight for several hours a day, most of the year.

Dyes lose intensity unevenly: the top of the backrest and one side of an arm rest lighten, the rest does not. After cleaning, the soiling disappears and the colour gap becomes more visible than before, because the grey film that had evened it out has been removed.

There is no method that restores the colour. We flag it at the assessment stage, panel by panel, so the decision is made beforehand: treat anyway for hygiene and general appearance, or move the furniture concerned to a re-upholstery job, which is not our trade.

Same rule for a cigarette burn, a chlorine mark and an old dye stain: the fibre has been changed, there is no longer any soil to extract. Some stains or smells may also remain: no 100% result is guaranteed, and stains you point out trigger no automatic surcharge.

Lobby velvet, wool or silk is treated with a method confirmed from photos. The rest is covered by the free re-do guarantee. For details by covering, see treatment limits by material.

Frequently asked questions

Can you treat the seating of a public space without interrupting operations?

Yes, by working at night and zone by zone, with a full reset before opening. The team enters through goods deliveries with a supplier badge, moves through service areas and uses the service lift, never crossing guest-facing areas with equipment. Water intake and drainage points are designated by the technical manager.

How often should a bar or lobby bench be gone over?

More often than people think, and above all before soiling migrates into the foam. A very exposed sofa is treated on a tighter cycle, upstairs lounges on a wider-spaced one. A one-off job, triggered once the furniture is visibly marked, gives a partial result for the same price per sofa. The calendar is set around operations, avoiding the October and December peaks.

Will the furniture be usable as soon as it opens the next day?

That is the aim of a night visit, but drying takes half a day to a full day, sometimes longer: the mechanical ventilation set up during the treatment shortens it without removing it. The exact time is announced on site, after assessing the volume, foam density and air circulation. A zone that cannot be dry in time is postponed or split rather than handed back damp.

What do you do with a sofa whose fabric has been sun-faded?

We flag it before starting. A sun-faded fabric has lost its colour unevenly, and cleaning makes the gap more visible by removing the grey film that had evened it out. No method restores the colour. The decision is made at the assessment stage, panel by panel, between treating anyway for hygiene or moving the piece to a re-upholstery job, which is not our trade.
