Window cleaning in Guéliz, Marrakech

On avenue Mohammed V, a dirty shopfront shows within a day. In Guéliz, window cleaning is not a service you order occasionally: it is a cost line you plan for.

In short

EPUREVA cleans shop windows, shop signs and office glazing in Guéliz, the central Marrakech district where our own address is located, at 55 avenue Mohammed V. Shop glass is charged at 25 MAD incl. VAT per m², both sides included, and glass inside the shop at 15 MAD per m², with a 1,000 MAD minimum per shop; a flat fascia sign costs 100 MAD per metre of length. Offices are cleaned on the inside only, at 15 MAD per m², 500 MAD minimum. Visits are scheduled before opening time.

On the avenue, a shopfront gets dirty by the hour, not the week

A Guéliz shopfront suffers neither track sand nor garden sprinklers: it suffers footfall. And footfall dirties fast, at eye level, always in the same spots.

What we find on a shop window on avenue Mohammed V or a nearby shopping street:

  • the grey film of traffic — exhaust particles and street dust — settling on the bottom third and on south-facing faces;
  • hand and forehead marks around vinyl graphics and door handles;
  • splashes of dirty water at pavement level on street-washing days or after rain;
  • streaks from the awning, the shop-sign fascia and a facade-mounted air-conditioning unit, running down in vertical lines that will not come off with one wipe of a sponge.

This urban pace has a simple commercial consequence: between two visits a month apart, the shopfront spends half its time below the standard you want to show.

How often to come is your call, and you can make it with the figures in hand: every visit is worked out the same way, per m² of shop glass, with the 1,000 MAD shop floor; a shopfront left to slide for a long time also takes the 20% set for very dirty glass. What we do specifically on a shopfront is described on our shopfronts page.

Working on a busy pavement, between six o'clock and opening time

In Guéliz, the constraint is not reaching the glazing: it is washing it without occupying the pavement during the hours it is needed. A shopfront is cleaned in a few minutes; it is the bucket, the hose, the pole set down and the water on the ground that get in the way.

Our organisation on the shopping streets:

  1. An early-morning slot, before the shops open and before the pedestrian flow builds. For office floors, the visit is scheduled before staff arrive or after they leave, with keys or a badge handed over and the alarm managed by your point of contact.
  2. A tight working footprint: we do not spread out over more than a metre of pavement, and equipment stays against the facade, never across the walkway.
  3. Controlled water. Washing with pure demineralised water needs no detergent: what reaches the ground is water, not foam. We squeegee off the residual water before leaving, so we do not leave a slippery pavement in front of your door.
  4. The vehicle: parking is the real sore point in this district. We arrive before spaces fill up and we never block a traffic lane.

What we need from you: a tap and a power socket in the shop or on the office floor. Without water and electricity available, we cannot do the job. What we do not do: we do not put up scaffolding on the public highway, and we do not apply for a public-space permit. A shopfront that would require one falls outside what we offer.

Ground plus four, ground plus seven: what we wash, and from where, on a Guéliz building

Guéliz is Marrakech's most vertically mixed district: shops at ground level, office floors above, homes higher still. A single building can therefore carry three different window-cleaning needs, and only one access rule: nothing above 5 metres from the ground, no cherry picker and no ropes. Floor by floor, it works out like this.

  • At street level, the shop window and the fascia are washed from the pavement. Up to 3 metres, no supplement; between 3 and 5 metres the pole takes over, at 25% on top of the base price, once the photos have been checked. The sign itself is never marked up.
  • On the office floors, we work from inside, on the inside face only: that is the only face we offer for offices, whether on the first floor or the seventh.
  • In the flats, a window is counted as its whole frame, 75 MAD incl. VAT up to 2 m², and both sides are included when they can be reached from inside the flat. Whatever can only be reached from the street, above 5 metres, we do not do.

"From the ground" matters as much as the height, and more so in Guéliz: a facade that faces a pavement lined with orange trees, a café terrace or a permanent line of parked cars leaves no room to set the pole plumb.

We check this on your photos before confirming, not on the morning of the visit. The detail of pole work is on our high-level glazing page, and treatment of large glazed surfaces on patio-door cleaning.

What is counted in an office window-cleaning quotation

An office floor is not priced like a shop, and an office manager comparing two quotations needs to know what each line covers.

  • The unit is the m² of glass faces, on the inside: 15 MAD incl. VAT. Measure width × height of each pane, then add them up.
  • A glass partition washed on both sides counts both faces: 6 m² of glass becomes 12 m² charged, or 180 MAD of line items.
  • The office floor is 500 MAD. A floor with 20 m² of faces, 300 MAD of line items, is therefore charged 500 MAD: the top-up pays for the call-out, setting up the equipment and producing pure water.
  • The outside face is not offered, on any floor. No cherry picker, no ropes, no exceptions.
  • If the ground floor is a shop, it falls under the shop rate: 25 MAD per m² of shop window, 15 MAD per m² of interior glass, a 1,000 MAD floor, and the sign on top.

What we do not charge extra for: cleaning frames and runners, dusting sills, removing fingermarks from existing vinyl graphics.

What we do not do: we do not apply or remove adhesive lettering, we do not repair a window that closes badly, and we do not treat jammed metal shutters — see what we do with closures. The rest of what we offer in the district is presented on the Guéliz page, and the service overview on the Marrakech window-cleaning hub.

Frequently asked questions

What time do you work on a shopfront on avenue Mohammed V?

Early in the morning, before the shops open and before the pedestrian flow builds, or in the evening after closing. We work within about a metre of the facade, with no detergent, and we squeegee off the residual water before leaving so we do not leave a slippery pavement. The slot is confirmed in writing before the visit.

Up to which floor can you wash the glazed facade of a Guéliz building?

From the street, up to 5 metres and no higher: above 3 metres we switch to the pole from the pavement, with a 25% supplement, if your photos show it can be done. Beyond that, we have neither a cherry picker nor ropes. On the upper floors, office glazing is washed on the inside only, and flat windows from inside the flat.

Why is a small shop window charged 1,000 MAD?

Because the shop minimum is 1,000 MAD incl. VAT. A 12 m² shop window at 25 MAD per m² comes to 300 MAD of line items; the top-up brings the visit to 1,000 MAD, which pays for the call-out, setting up and producing pure water. The floor fills up once you add the glass inside the shop, at 15 MAD per m². The sign is added after the minimum.

Are the internal glazed partitions of an open-plan office counted separately?

They go into the m² of glass faces, at 15 MAD incl. VAT: a partition washed on both sides adds up both faces. A glazed door and an entrance airlock are measured the same way, and the whole is subject to the 500 MAD office floor. Frames, sills, runners and fingermarks on existing vinyl graphics are included; we do not apply or remove adhesive lettering.

Do you also clean the sign above the shop window?

Yes, when it is a flat fascia no more than 1 metre high: 100 MAD incl. VAT per metre of length, 200 MAD minimum, added after the shop minimum and never marked up by supplements. Raised letters, a light box or a taller panel: the supplement is confirmed on a photo before the visit.
